Our Story

A Tale of Two Farmers and Their Dream

Janaraksha is having wider experience of working with dropout children in Chikmagalur, Hassan and Mandya districts from past 15 years.  With these experiences we are planning to expand and scale up and concentrate in Block of Mandya district Malavalli focusing 4 Gram panchayaths.  In Kundur panchayath we conducted 6 month bridge course program supported by SarvaShikshana Abhiyana( SSA) government of Karnataka. The program is demand based one and children are in need of our intervention with continuous follow up and institutional building components.
In this intervention phase we would like to strengthen institutions of community to sustain the program. The children who are at risk due to migration, without continuous income flow and having the risk of children drop out at the early age, and they could not do much at the decision making and policy changing levels because of lack of awareness, skills, unorganized and fractured community coming together for common cause. These challenges will be considered in this phase. Whereas in Government supported program it was one point agenda of bridge school and mainstream.
